The third successive phone in its ‘Black Label’ line not only offers a large screen, but is reportedly the thinnest 5MP camera phone on the market. In case you’re wondering, the popular Samsung G600 is the current record holder, which measures just 14.9mm thick and weighs in at a svelte 105g. If LG is going to beat this design for slimness, we’d be surprised if it doesn’t weigh quite a bit less as well. A scratch-resistant glass screen and carbon fibre body indicates that no corners have been cut in terms of materials. In addition to the headline digital camera, you’ll find a typically minimalist approach when it comes to controls, with just four buttons available in ‘closed’ mode supplementing the touchscreen functionality of the display itself. Elsewhere you’ll find an LED flash accompanying the camera, 3G connectivity, video calling and 160MB of internal memory, which can thankfully be upgraded via the microSD card slot.
These are about all the details we can get our hands on at the moment, so you’ll have to wait for more until the phone is officially unveiled on April 24th.The good news though, is that Europe will be getting first dibs. There’s no confirmed information on pricing strategy as yet, but based on the design and specifications, we wouldn’t expect it to be cheap.
